Description

Scissor Lifts are some of the most common types of EWPs that are used to complete a broad range of tasks and are a great option to add to your skillset. Whether you’re using an electric, in-door machine or a diesel powered Rough Terrain Scissor Lift, we’ve got you covered.

Our assessors pass on their EWP experience and knowledge of the machines with the aim to give you confidence and practical, real world, expertise allowing you or your staff to complete their job safely.

You will receive the following Unit Standards on your NZQA Record of Achievement and on your license:

23966 – Describe types of EWP, and legislative requirements for their use (Theory) - This must be completed for all new card holders

23960 – Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a scissor lift EWP (Practical)

The one-day training course is designed to deliver essential safety and compliance information. Attendees will gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in:

  • Health and Safety Legislative Requirements
  • Types of Elevated Work Platforms (EWP’s)
  • EWP Compliance Requirements
  • Hazard identification, risk assessment and controls
  • Fall arrest harness inspection, fitting and use
  • Conduct pre and post operational checks
  • Safe Operation of EWP
  • Emergency procedures, Rescue Plans
  • Theory & Practical assessments, observation and demonstration.

Upon successful completion of the course, we take care of the rest! Your Unit Standards will be reported by Silvercard and placed on your NZQA Record of Achievement.
